About Summer Music Camp

Austin Soundwaves Summer Music Camps offer fun, five-day programs in late June where students of all experience levels can explore instruments, build musical skills, and express their creativity. With pathways for beginners, early musicians, and advancing players, campers enjoy hands-on activities, ensemble rehearsals, and engaging electives, all leading to a celebratory performance at the end of the week.

Explore & Create is designed for students ages 7–11 who are new to playing instruments and ready to explore music in creative, hands-on ways. Campers discover music through trying instruments, singing, and engaging in music crafts, games, and creative projects—all culminating in a joyful end-of-week showcase. Full and half-day options available.

Play & Progress is designed for students who have had one year experience in a band or orchestra class (or equivalent).  Campers build core skills—tone, rhythm, technique, playing in sections—and experience the joy of making music with peers in a supportive environment.

Level Up & Lead is for students ready to dive deeper into musicianship, leadership, and creative expression. Campers rehearse ambitious repertoire, develop independence as players, and explore electives like conducting, recording, improvisation, and composition.
