PROGRAMS

Austin Soundwaves Programs

We invest in our Austin community and engage with local musicians of all levels through numerous program offerings during the school day, after school, and throughout the summer.

DRAYLEN MASON FELLOWS PROGRAM

The Draylen Mason Fellows Program honors the legacy of Draylen Mason by furthering the musical and personal development of a select group of high school students over the course of one year. Fellows engage with a number of social issues important to them and their community, culminating in an original capstone concert in May.

FESTIVAL SERIES

The Austin Soundwaves Festival Series provides an opportunity for students and school programs to engage with their musical community through our annual Invitational Orchestra and Band Festival, Solo and Ensemble Festival, and Large Ensemble Festival.

MARIACHI PARA TODOS

Mariachi Para Todos is a free intergenerational community program for students of all levels, ages 10-55+. Mariachi Para Todos provides a hands-on experience of playing traditional mariachi music with an equal focus on artistry and community building.

SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS

We work together with numerous schools throughout the region to provide in-class teaching, individual and group lessons, coaching, and general ensemble support in the classroom and concerts.

SUMMER MUSIC CAMP

Our Summer Music Camps are intensive, fun-filled weeks of playing, creating, and learning geared toward ages 7-18. Full-day camps take place in June, featuring camps for absolute beginners to musicians looking to study music after high school.
