Mariachi Para Todos Program Site Visit
Austin Soundwaves is hosting a program site visit for Mariachi Para Todos, our intergenerational community mariachi ensemble, on Wednesday, October 26th from 6:30-8pm at East Austin College Prep. Join us for some tacos and get a chance to talk with students, board, staff, alumni, and other supporters of Austin Soundwaves. We will conclude with a 20-minute observation of Mariachi Para Todos as they prepare for a performance at Pease Park Conservancy the following week.

Amplify Austin Kickoff Event: Experience Mariachi Para Todos
Please join us on Wednesday, March 2nd from 6-8pm to see our intergenerational ensemble, Mariachi Para Todos, in rehearsal and performance. This is a chance to meet with teaching artists, participants, and Austin Soundwaves staff to find out more about MPT, our work in community ensembles, and learn about the intergenerational learning philosophy.
In celebration of Amplify Austin, our city’s 24-hour day of giving, we will live-stream the performance and provide free tacos and Austin Soundwaves swag from 6-7pm. Our goal is to raise $15,000 in 24 hours in order to keep our community music programs free for all.
This event will take place on the campus of East Austin College Prep (5800 E Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd).

Summer Strings Camp
Headstart Program 8am - 12pm: Learn the basics of playing a string instrument! Open to all students who are in rising 6th grader or younger. No previous experience necessary. Strings instruments can be provided.
Academy Program 1pm - 5pm: Open to all students in rising 7th grade or older with 1+ years of experience.

Alumni Get Together
Austin Soundwaves is ten years old and we wanted to celebrate with all of you!
We have a full day planned starting at Zilker Park. You'll be able to play volleyball, rent boats, walk along Butler Hike and Bike Trail or just hang out. We'll also have a picnic lunch for everyone.
In the afternoon, we'll head to a school to do some more. We're planning to have instruments available if you want to play some music, compete in some games of Kahoot!, relive past performances, catch up, and eat dinner.

In Honor Of Draylen Mason: A Performance at EA Prep
Thursday, March 12 will mark 2 years since Draylen Mason, a longtime student of Austin Soundwaves, was killed in the package bombings of 2018. We will be performing the Nimrod variation from Elgar's Enigma and Somewhere from Westside Story in his memory.
