Alumni Spotlight: Samuel Olmos ('19)
Samuel Olmos was an active member of Austin Soundwaves throughout middle and high school, playing in orchestra, chamber music, mariachi, and serving as a teaching assistant and concertmaster his senior year. After graduation in 2019, he attended Sacramento State School of Music to study violin performance under Anna Presler for a year before the pandemic caused him to return to Texas. Samuel was also involved in the university's string project program, where he taught orchestra and chamber music to elementary, middle, and high school students in the area.
Samuel stayed busy during the pandemic and was a featured performer in several virtual concerts with Austin Soundwaves in 2020 and 2021. He is still studying with his professor from Sacramento State virtually while attending Austin Community College and is preparing auditions for music schools back home in the Lone Star State.
