All-Region Festival and Showcase
We are excited to present the Austin Music Education Coalition’s All-Region Festival and Showcase this Saturday, January 22 at 4pm at East Austin College Prep! Students from 10 programs in the Austin area will perform orchestra and band music, led by our guest conductors, Kim Yeager of Manor New Tech Middle School and Ana Maria Solis-Herrera of Austin High and Austin Youth Orchestra Alliance. Students have been hard at work preparing for these performances and will meet and rehearse for the first time this coming Friday and Saturday.
The Austin Music Education Coalition started in 2016 as an initiative of Austin Soundwaves, with generous support from the Webber Family Foundation, to bring together smaller school programs from throughout the region, experiencing the excitement that comes from performing in an All-Region orchestra and band, as well as the annual Solo/Ensemble Festival and Large Ensemble Festival.
