Pre-Founding Day

As we approach our founding day on October 17th, we’re highlighting several moments and milestones on Facebook, Instagram, and email. It fills us with pride to look back on so many events of the last 12 years, starting with 42 students at one school site in 2011 through more than 1,100 students and 23 school partnerships and programs this past year! Even more inspiring: there are WAY TOO MANY highlights to feature, but we hope you enjoy the few we’ve chosen below.

In 2015, our local Austin PBS affiliate featured Austin Soundwaves as part of their weekly Arts in Context TV series. It was a great opportunity for us to share stories from our organization, feature three students who are now alumni of Austin Soundwaves after graduating from high school, and tracing back our roots as an El Sistema-inspired program.
