The work has just begun!

When we began our partnership with Austin Achieve Public Schools, a Title I school district that had over 2,000 students but zero music classes, we knew we had to think BIG and lean into a core value at Austin Soundwaves:  P O S S I B I L I T Y!

Instead of launching a small program without a long-term plan, we helped the district over 3 years to hire full-time music teachers, purchase quality instruments, develop a unified curriculum, and provide necessary in-school support. We invested significant thought, time, and financial resources at the beginning of the partnership in order to realize permanent, systems-level change.

This approach paid off: today, music is available to all 2,000+ K-12 students.

Because of our partnership and collaboration with the district, music rings out every hour of every day at every Austin Achieve campus. We can only do this by working together with schools, families, and supporters like you. Through our work over the past decade, we can proudly say that at least 90% of Austin schools have music education programs. And what’s more, we have a clear path to 100% access to music education in Austin.
