Draylen Mason Fellows Program Feature

Clarice Assad Visit At UT

Students from our school partnership program, East Austin College Prep, spent the afternoon at The University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music earlier this week. They got a chance to visit again with composer Clarice Assad (who presented a class at EA Prep earlier this past spring) and watched the amazing UT Symphony Orchestra rehearse the world premiere of Clarice Assad’s new work entitled, Baião ’n Blues.

Teaching Artist Training Institute - June Retreat

Two of our brilliant Austin Soundwaves lead teaching artists, Matthew Gustafson and Jorge Villalba, were selected as part of the summer learning retreat for the Teaching Artist Training Institute held in Miami at the end of June. They spent the week working and learning with teaching artists from other El Sistema-inspired programs throughout the United States.
